A 10-year journey

A journey of the past 10 years... This is the story of Mayson, who was born in 2022.

In 2021 we took the step to try elsewhere, after more than 10 years of treatment in the Netherlands. Through the grapevine we heard that there are more options and better treatments in Turkey, so I started Googling and ended up at humanfirstivf. Contact was low-threshold and there was no waiting time. All I had to do was provide information and everything was arranged by Evren.

I'd had abdominal complaints for years and the doctors in the Netherlands had no idea, and I got the feeling I was just a number. At some point the doctors had no more hope, which meant we'd almost given up too. In 2021 we arrived in Istanbul, stayed at the Marriott hotel where everyone was also very friendly. Our host was super kind and kept me updated by message.

The next day we met doctor Cem and he proposed a treatment I first needed to undergo before the IVF treatment. Doctor Cem was very positive, unlike in the Netherlands. This gave us hope again, and 8 months later, after a successful ICSI treatment, we were expecting Mayson, which felt unreal until I had our little miracle in my arms. The pregnancy went well, and in between we were also in touch with Evren (Human First) whenever I had questions. Should we go for a 2nd child, we will definitely go back to Istanbul to our Doctor Cem.
