I couldn't let it rest (February 2025)

After years of being sent from one hospital to another here in the Netherlands, and finally hearing at the last hospital "there's nothing more we can do for you," or in other words, our wish for a child could not come true, my husband and I found ourselves in our biggest nightmare: we would never become a mom and dad. We ended up in a kind of "grieving process." We absolutely hadn't seen this coming. We decided to let it rest for a while, and just be there for each other.

But I couldn't let it rest, and a few days later I started searching online: to be exact, I googled "wanting a child Germany and Belgium.."

And what happened? What came up at the very top of Google? HUMAN FIRST - Turkey

I started reading other people's reviews, visited the site several times, and called my husband.. I had such a good feeling about this!

At first we were going to let it rest, but why did Human First come up at the top? Was this a sign? YES! This was definitely a sign for us. My husband and I got in touch with Evren, our first conversation was over FaceTime, and what a pleasant, warm conversation we had with her. We felt so at ease. We told our story, and Evren discussed it with the doctor in Turkey - to make a long story short, they told us they definitely wanted to help us.

So what did we do? 17 days together in Turkey - Istanbul, to be exact. We went for it wholeheartedly! No doubt about it! What did we have to lose?

Once we arrived, we were welcomed so kindly and warmly. We had a host, Hatice, who helped us so incredibly well - we are so grateful she went through the process with us. Such a wonderfully sweet woman. And honestly, everyone at the hospital, both the doctors and the nurses, were all so caring and friendly! We were received with open arms.

My husband had to undergo a procedure here, and so did I. It all went incredibly well. And now we can say that we are 15 weeks pregnant with twins.

Who would have ever dared to dream this - not us! But how skilled they are at Acibadem Hospital. They are so much further ahead than in the Netherlands with their treatments.

So it really was a sign for us, that this came up at the top of Google. We are so grateful for this, and haven't regretted this journey for a single moment.
