We'd only been married for two years, but pretty quickly found out that getting pregnant the regular way just wasn't in the cards for us. We were also told right away back then that for us, getting pregnant could only happen through IVF.

After a few days recovering from the shock and disbelief, we didn't hesitate for a moment and I immediately made an appointment at a hospital here in the Netherlands, from the moment we sat waiting in the waiting room we felt absolutely not at ease, we literally felt like just a number.. during the conversation with the gynecologist she immediately told us we'd be put on a waiting list because I'm still young, and my husband first had to quit smoking, and in the meantime we just had to keep trying.. my husband and I looked at each other and couldn't believe what we were hearing.. my husband stood up, thanked the gynecologist for her time and we walked out.

In the car we decided we'd look for a different hospital together, we searched Google together for "IVF abroad," and we landed straight on the Human First site, together we read the reviews from other patients on the site, the reviews really appealed to us, then we read the rest of the information on the site, we felt positive right away and decided to contact Evren from Human First the next day, Evren was able to give me so much information over the phone that afterward I had absolutely no doubt left and wanted to make this trip to Istanbul.

Right after the positive phone call with Evren I called my husband and told him everything, my husband said too, we're doing this! Within three weeks of that phone call with Evren, we were sitting in Istanbul.

We were received incredibly well at the hospital there, you're truly welcome there, you're one of them there, and it's okay to be there, all the doctors give you that feeling, we felt so at home and welcome there that we look back on our entire process in Istanbul with Human First with a huge smile.

After the retrieval and the transfer, we had a positive pregnancy test in hand after 13 days, we were overjoyed, the way we were treated there was already enough for us even if it hadn't worked out, we'd have gone back, but instead after 13 days we found out the treatment had worked right away, doubly happy with the hospital and Human First.

One thing is certain for us, never again a process in the Netherlands, only ever through Human First from now on. We're expecting our little daughter in December 2021, and we're overjoyed.

Whether we'd go to Turkey through Human First again? Absolutely!
